When did “claw back” become the standard media phrase for reapplying govt funding? And why?

Possible solutions:
1: Just raise the . They've done it before. The debt ceiling isnt really a thing w/ other countries. Propose changes when the comes up again in Oct
2: Raise revenue & !
3: AUDIT THE RICH!!! The richest 1% of Americans evade an est of $163 billion in each year.
4: Eliminate subsidies to cmps!
5: Raise the to increase revenue & lower spending on social welfare programs.

1st, the "" is a political construct created by to limit the Treasury Dept on how much they can borrow. The was already passed & this is a matter of paying the country's bills we already agreed on.

2nd, The raised the limit 3 times under Trump. So obviously they don't have a problem doing so. But now that Biden is in office, suddenly are "fiscally responsible"?

The only on here that is playing here is

House Speaker stated today that & Senate Majority Leader were "playing " w/ the ""...

BUT THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT HE & ARE DOING!!!
The is NOT a time to decide on ! The ALREADY passed the & decided how much to fund each program. Now we need to pay.

& are holding the nation's as hostage to push his agenda to cut social programs.

As we in the US go into budget negotiations, let’s be clear about the record of the GOP vs the record of the Democratic party. (Source: amarkfoundation.org/us-federal)

Proof the can change spots. In 1975, Joe Biden proposed sunsetting all federal programs every five years.
In 1984, Joe Biden proposed freezing all federal spending, including Medicare and Social Security.
In 1985, Joe Biden suggested freezing all federal spending for two years.
In 1995, Joe Biden said “Whenni argued grat. we should freeze federal spending, I meant Social Security as well. I meant Medicare and Medicaid. I meant veterans’ benefits. I meant every single thing in the government.” End quote. (Oops, not supposed to read that.)

One problem with the debt limit issue is the horrible reporting in the media -- left, right, and center -- that (a) confuses debt and deficit and (b) implies, or states, that it is possible to stop the debt from growing through spending cuts. Here's yet another example of the idiocy the media throw out.
