We just released an integration with News Detective—a new project to reduce misinformation on social media and teach media literacy with built-in transparency. They're part of MIT's Sandbox Innovation Fund Program, and are working with journalism students and the public to promote media literacy.

Long day, but things are looking good here—I made a [hopefully significant] database optimization tonight.

To make #FederatedPress sustainable into the future—and to handle new growth—I'll be looking at setting up a crowdfunding option soon.

We've had 428 new applications today so far, and I approved many of them. Hello new users!

Having some scaling issues with all the traffic and new users today. If the site is slow, that's why. It's currently back to normal and smooth sailing for the moment. 👍

These things tend to fluctuate during large migrations—thanks for bearing with me.

#FederatedPress is an English-language server, but we do have some non-English or bilingual accounts joining us!

You can customize which languages you see by going to Edit profile -> Preferences -> Other -> Filter languages.

I hope we can also have a built-in translation feature on #Mastodon someday soon. #FediTips
