In #complexity, being #networked or having a networked organization is not enough. Here, organizations also need to be #federative, or #decentralized, in order to allow for #agility and consistent #selforganization.
This "mode of operating" is the only way to #highperformance, in complexity.
This is why centralized #management and centralized steering are dead. Stone dead.

Companies should not be #flatter: In "flat", the logic of top-down/bottom-up and hierarchical #steering is preserved.
Instead, organizations must become #decentralized & #federative, in order to counter market complexity with internal complexity, effectively! (Which is why #MatrixStructures, business unit structures, #AgileScaling or the #SpotifyModel got it all wrong.)
