Sehr praktisch , leider ruht die Entwicklung gerade.
@jahed Maybe... But maybe not.
#FediAct extension is supposed to determine if the arbitrary site you visit is a Mastodon web interface, providing a shortcut where you don't have to manually add yet another site to whitelist. Hence the access to all websites and a smooth transition from random Mastodon post to actions on behalf of your Mastodon account.
I'm writing this, because I want you to imagine how this hypothetical "access per site" addition would work with extension like this.
@iambozdar #FediAct is helpful for following and interacting with posts on different servers https://github.com/lartsch/FediAct
#StreetPass and #FediAct together make a potent combo. I just reviewed my list today and picked up a few new follows... just from regular web browsing!
StreetPass finds their masto pages, and FediAct lets you follow them without searching. This is super awesome!
Very cool add on @tvler and @lartsch!

About the on-hover profile previews:
This can probably also be developed as a browser #extension. Maybe even as part of #FediAct or #Graze. This if someone knows #javascript and #css, please be my guest!

As you maybe remember, I'm a satisfied user of the Firefox extension #FediAct (also available for Chromium based browsers).

Today I found a similar extension, named '#Graze for Mastodon'. It has lesser features than FediAct, but on the other hand it has multi-account-support (something I don't need). So although I will keep using FediAct, if you want something simpler plus multi-account-support, I advise:
#mastotips #feditips #graze #fediact
@shoq @Green_Footballs yes, please! Also keep an eye on the #fediact and #FediAct, which does a lot of what #tootski does, but better. :)
I feel strongly that a great browser extension should be a core part of the Mastodon experience, to help knit together disparate servers. "Install a browser extension to help" ought to be something that new desktop users hear along with hashtag and alt-text advice.
@feditips @podkaynelives @PleaseCaption to that I will add: if you’re a desktop user, consider installing a browser extension such as #tootski or #fediact to help smooth out the edges between Mastodon servers.
@feditips
It would be better if #MastodonWeb had an option to open external profiles through original instance by default (in new tab), especially once extensions like #FediAct become common.
Now that I think about it, this could be an idea for such extension.
If you use Mastodon through a computer, you can install a special browser extension called FediAct which lets you directly interact with other servers' websites:
:firefox: FediAct for Firefox
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/fediact/
:google: FediAct for Chome
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/fediact/lmpcajpkjcclkjbliapfjfolocffednm
This can be very useful if you are following web links to other servers, for example in the listings on https://fedi.directory
FediAct is free and open source:

@ApplAuD7982 @atomicpoet That log-in can be automated. There's a lot of plugins to help such as #FediAct.
#FediAct is a great plugin for #Firefox and #Chrome that lets you interact with posts on other #Mastodon instances as if you were directly interacting on your local instance. I highly recommend it.
The only two shortcomings I see is the API delay is slightly too short (would be nice if it was just long enough to not get itself rate limited if you scroll a long timeline) and it doesn't work with some instances.

[ #Desktop Users: Reveal]
Curious as to what everyone's favorite #Chrome #extensions are, definitely looking for recommendations. Here's a screenshot of the ones I currently have, including #FediAct
My main gripe with certain 'popular' ones is that they require payment yet many users are reporting sub-par performance.

A very useful Firefox & Chrome extension for interacting with Mastodon accounts on different instances.
No more manual copying the URL before you can boost/like.
Update: Don't know if you're on a desktop or phone, but on my desktop, when I hit reply on the other server, it resolves back to my homepage, brings the comment from the other instance into my Getting Started panel, and opens up a reply comment as though it was on my server.

I am over-the-moon with this new #Browser #Extension, #FediAct for #Chrome. Makes interacting with other #instances totally seamless.
No more copy URL, paste into search, then basically interacting with a shadow profile just to like/boost/follow.
Love this #aAddOn (I am not associated with this in any way other than using the heck out of it!)

Shoutout to @lartsch for what I feel is the most useful extension for Mastodon, making it much easier to Follow, Bookmark, etc. in Chrome & Firefox. #FediAct #FOSS #FediHelp https://github.com/Lartsch/FediAct
