#FediFinder I’m trying to find an article I read here (I think), I thought I boosted it but couldn’t find it. Searched DDG and had no luck. It was an article on capitalist risk and how finite risk doesn’t warrant infinite reward. It had a story about saving someone’s life, then asking for a beer at a pub after. Then doing that the next week, and the next, until eventually the person whose life was saved stops buying the beer. I wanna say it was a Substack. Anything pointing me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!

From my 2042 followings, #fedifinder found 488 fediverse handles and 104 bluesky handles (at least 9 false positives).

Ehe Twitter das Blocken nicht mehr erlaubt, habe ich noch rasch ein Konto blockiert, solang es noch geht.

Dann nochmal den #Fedifinder laufen lassen, um zu schauen, ob vielleicht noch weitere Leute inzwischen ein Fediverse-Konto in ihrem Twitterprofil nennen.

Ich schau da ja eh nur noch selten rein.

Weil #Musk #Xcorp das Blockfeature abschaffen möchte, habe ich wieder mal den #fedifinder repariert. Am Handy im Bett (macht keinen Spaß). Und jedes Mal denke ich mir, dass eine langfristige Lösung zu aufwändig ist, weil sowieso in ein paar Tagen die API weg ist. Seit einem halben Jahr. #Twitter

But I'm beginning to suspect that using #Fedifinder to import my Twitter contacts initially made that huge difference for me that some are not finding.

Just did another round of #fedifinder and found a few more #Twitter (#X?) holdouts that recently made the switch. :)

@pascoda I don't know for sure, but importing followings may send a request on each import if the previous request was denied.

I'm wondering if I could change #fedifinder to make that less annoying, but I have no solution as it happens afterwards and even checking already followed accounts wouldn't help.

@codymkw I tested it five minutes ago. New #fedifinder still works. You could try to use the logout button and/or delete cookies.

Overall, if any account looks even remotely interesting to you, follow it! Then use filters in your account settings to clear out stuff you don't want to see. It's super easy to unfollow later if you decide an account isn't worth seeing in your feed down the line so don't overthink it.

Falls ich jemanden beim blauen Vogel folge, aber nicht hier auf #Mastodon: Schaut mal in euer Vogelprofil, ob da ein Link zum #Mastodon-Profil da ist, sodass es per #Fedifinder auffindbar ist.

Denk dran, dein Mastodon-Profil im Twitter-Profil zu erwähnen/verlinken, damit #Fedifinder ( https://fedifinder.glitch.me/ ) deinen Twitter-Followern die Mastodon-Alternative präsentieren kann.

Bei deinem Hauptprofil @SBahnFahrer funktioniert es bereits – da zeigt #Fedifinder das Mastodon-Pendant an.

Ich kapier das mit dem #fedifinder nicht. Keine Ahnung, wo diese importieren Funktion sich versteckt :(
