@andypiper @astro go to https://FediForum.org, at the bottom of the page is a link to the session notes from the last #FediForum, including recordings of the demos.
The previous @fediforum unconference in March resulted in new connections, refined ideas, and more collaboration among fediverse users, operators, and developers.
I am looking forward to the next event on September 20–21. I hope to get feedback on my progress building Open Payments and Web Monetization support into the social Web.

We're thinking of doing a Fediverse Developer Network session at the next #FediForum on 20-21 in September, too.
Join us, in either or both places?
@steve has published his #ActivityPub #test suite. He says it's "proof of concept" but I think it's a bit more. I very much like his structure with a "Server Abstract Layer".
Maybe we can talk him into doing a session at #FediForum about it?
@Sinead_Quealy @J12t that would be a great topic for a future #fediforum, for sure - family birthday travel trumps event attendance for me this time!
#FediForum, the online unconference for the #Fediverse, is coming up next month.
FediForum got a prettier website a few days ago and we just published the list of topics people told us they were interested in discussing (and we could publish) while registering. Just like last time around, there's some interesting stuff in there. The Fediverse has its work cut out for itself.
Meet like-minded people? Get some stuff done like we did in March? Go to https://fediforum.org/ , to check it out.
I am expecting a large amount of money to enter the #fediverse probably starting next year. Driven by startups with #venturecapital.
Why? Because the investment opportunity of an open social network is simply too juicy to ignore. Most potential fediverse entrepreneurs may not know yet, but once #threads actually does #activitypub, it will become clear very quickly.
Love it or hate it, how are we going to prepare? Something I want to discuss at #fediforum. https://FediForum.org

@evan @thisismissem @alex @dmitri @det There were several IFTAS-related sessions at the March #FediForum, notes are at https://fediforum.org/2023-03/ look for those hosted by @jaz.
Hey, @jdp23, do you have any suggestions how to go about increasing the amunt / depth / … of discussing these kinds of issues at the upcoming #fediforum? (I’m particularly interested in nuanced discussions … )Who would be a good person to lead such a discussion? Who should be in the room? Is there any specific step or progress you could envision could be made at the event?
Would anyone be interested in sponsoring me for a ticket for #fediforum? https://www.eventbrite.com/e/fediforum-september-2023-tickets-677080184057
General ticket costs $40, and at present I cannot afford that, but also wouldn't wish to take a “(Almost) Free Ticket” away from individuals who a less privileged than myself.
You #fediforum could be my answer for #writingforums.
I've been meaning to look for something that replaces classical writing forums.
@fediforum I thought the last #FediForum was great, nicely organized and well worth the time. Highly recommended!
Got asked whether we are going to do another #FediForum #fediverse unconference.
Oh, yes: September 20 and 21. Registration will open shortly.
In the meantime, leave your contact info at https://fediforum.org/
You @boris @liaizon and @ntnsndr should do a lesson-learned or maybe how-to fedi-coop at the next #fediforum in September. I continue to believe this is the correct model for tech ops for the future…
Looking for a good #peertube instance to host #Fediforum demo videos (of #fediverse apps). Any recommendations?

I attended #FediForum a couple weeks ago — there was so much great conversation, and you can see notes from all sessions here:
https://fediforum.org/2023-03/
I called a session about how companies like #Fastly can be good stewards of the #Fediverse and grow it sustainably, for people, projects, and the planet.
I’m curious what everyone on #Fedi thinks too — here's more info about we’re doing with #FastForward and @glitchdotcom now:
https://www.slideshare.net/HannahAubry1/fast-forward-for-the-fediverse-257444373
So what are your ideas or concerns?

@hamishcampbell hey there! You’re right, SocialHub is great! The #fedidevs group via venera came out of conversations at #Fediforum; and the gup.pe group was set up after the recent initial meeting of these parties (last Monday, Apr 10). The Matrix room was also a direct result of that meeting. The group hashtags/channels may or may not be used; we’re absolutely aware of the AP rocks community, it’s one (central!) part of the discussion, per e.g. https://dev.to/andypiper/thoughts-around-fediverse-developer-communities-cb6
@vicuzumeri @timbray @evan @boris @maegul i think you are proposing to identity some plausible future scenarios for the #fediverse, and perhaps how they might come to happen. This would be very useful to do imho, even if only as a lightening rod :-)
Re next #fediforum, that would certainly be an interesting session! In the meantime, a few blog posts might be a good idea.
@vicuzumeri some of this was discussed at #Fediforum hosted by @J12t and is likely a good home for activities like this.
I think doing some #WardleyMaps exercises is roughly what this looks like, see this for info https://learnwardleymapping.com/
I think commodifying hosting would be one movement I see, which is why I’m starting a list of hosting co-ops here https://github.com/CoSocial-Canada/notes/blob/main/Canadian%20Tech%20Co-ops.md
It would be great to expand and gather other resources.
The notes from the various #Fediforum sessions last week are on-line now. Lots of interesting tidbits there.
Video from the speed demos is still being edited. Stay tuned.
