9/ Yeah, I lied in post 1. This isn’t *a* public park, it’s a network of public parks. Your instance is just one. If you find you don’t like your instance — how it handles (or doesn’t handle) #moderation or its #federation/#defederation decisions, you can move your account to another instance, taking (most of) your followers & follows with you, leaving behind only footprints (your old posts; your old profile redirects to your new one)

I'm just worried that by focusing ourselves almost entriely on the #BigTech #Microblogging site when advocating for #fedimigration instead of also looking at the #ImageSharing or #VideoPlatform, we artificially reduce our own potential.

There are a lot of issues with #Youtube and #creators have sought alternatives for a long time.

It makes sense to me to share my post on leaving algorithm-based platforms here first, before I bid my final adieu over there.

Migrating my account to my own VPS, which means that my instance name just slightly changed (3 letters shorter 😅). Follows and Followers are intact.
