Still getting used to the #Fediverse. What'd the #greyBeards (elders) call us - i'd call myself a #fedinoob (a #TwitterRefugee 😅 ).

Apparently; in contrast to the tweeter, liking and faveing a toot is a matter of privacy - my #tootfaves(?) aren't public. This makes it more personal - the fave'd tooter gets a notification, and i get to populate my private "Favourites" list.

TIL:

1. it is not super straightforward to move between servers 👿 - while the interface makes it look easy, the ad-hoc execution can make you lose many followers/doesn't update refs/doesn't copy toots.

2. However, using the CSV import/export you can still export from your old account and import to your new account - even after you moved 😅 - so damage is minimized.

But swapping servers is something that should be well considered in advance...

My preferred way of navigating conversations and people in the bird space was lists. I know @Mastodon has lists but still scratching my head on how to best use to not lose people and ideas in the crowd… #fedinoob
