Trying to explore more of the fediverse, what are some good ways to explore peertube and pixelfed content? Account or tags to follow on Mastodon, or other clients to explore?

This is all fascinating, but I find myself back on other social media, so I want to broaden my understanding and usage of Fediverse and Open source.

So my son just asked a fediverse question that I don’t know the answer to, so I’m asking here as I have about 2 minutes before driving again: is there a Vine/TikTok analogue in the Fediverse? I know there’s an alternative to just about everything else.

Is it possible for fediverse browsers to suggest common hashtags automatically in “camel case”? Or to allow users to set these?

As I understand it, having capitals to break up hashtags (e.g. #fountainPens rather than #fountainpens) makes it easier for screen readers to accurately parse them.

Having this as the default would automate something helpful, in a way that (presumably) inconvenienced nobody.

Okay here's a thing I need explained to me; You can verify yourself by putting an element on your website which corresponds with something on your masto profile.

What is to stop say, a bad actor, from using wix or github pages or something to verify themselves, appear legitimate, and only be found out by the people who bother to check the link? Keep in mind I don't think I've seen any verified profiles on here.

- like #elsewhere becomes boost
- I REALLY READ THAT #elsewhere is ... I'm just using likes as bookmarks for stuff I Iike so I remember to read them slowly
