I know a bunch of #EroticaAuthors like to use scheduled posts to pre-plan and spread out their posts. I haven't found a way to do that in the web interface, but check your phone app - I use Tusky on Android and it's got a "schedule this toot" feature!

If you add a CW heading such as "Fursuit selfie" you will get /significantly/ more interactions than if you don't.

If you add an image description you'll get even /more/ interaction!

Under normal circumstances, yes! Explaining the joke kind of ruins it. But for the Fediverse, by directly stating it's a joke you are eliminating any uncertainty about your intentions.

Use those CWs liberally! Use them to enhance your jokes! But at the same time: be considerate for the sake of those who have been hurt by misinformation.

If you're going for a misinformation joke, you should mention that it's misinformation through a CW.

You're not hiding the joke by saying it's a joke, you're allowing others to recognize that you're not trying to lie to them.

Toxic misinformation is very real and it's up to us comedians to use it as a tool for laughs, not evil.

If you reply to a post but do not want your answer broadcast into other people’s (federated/home/local) #timeline select unlisted. Your reply will still be visible to all who view the original post (if you only want the person who wrote the post to see your reply, select mentioned-only).
Can be useful when replies are not informative out of the context of the original post (e.g. “Agree!”, “Did it work?”).

It's not always a good idea to forward a report to the instance of whoever you're reporting. Use your best judgment and keep in mind that a lot of bad instances screenshot dunk reports

Want to block an instance from interacting with you that's not been blocked by your instance?

If you select the triple-dots on a user's post/profile page from that instance, a dropdown menu will offer you the option to block the domain.

Just select that and voilà! Nobody from that instance will be able to see your posts or interact with you.

Ok, [my] newbie mistake.
I had signed up for 2 dif servers / instances at the (#Fediverse) #mastodon create-yr-account landing page.
But once you establish account(s) w/ a specific server, you have to go to the instances’ sign-in page to get the desktop/browser GUI.
The mobile apps do this differently bc they ask for yr server info when signing in. Duh !

For some reason I thought sign-in was centralized, but it’s not. That makes sense.

Be genuine when dealing with other people. Assume good faith when people reply to you. Don't be too snarky or cynical or rude.

Sounds easy, but if you're coming from other platforms where attacking people is the cultural norm, this might be harder than you think.
