#fedoracoreos is a bit of game to deploy on cheap Hetzner and OVH VPSs and I don't like having to embed an ignition file.

So I'm working on an ansible role that will install python then add #podman quadlets and supporting files and directories.

This makes a really nice auto-updating container host.

Messing around with #FedoraCoreOS and so far it’s not bad but I’m a bit lost with the ignition files. Got a system online but if I want to add new services in the future should I just create the systemd files? Make a new ign file and “reinstall?”

How do I monitor or manage system updates?

This weekend my goal is to get Fedora Core OS :fedora: installed on an old laptop and add it as a Kubernetes :kubernetes: node to my cluster. I've read great things about it and can't wait to dive in!

@stefan Vielleicht ist ja auch #MicroOS oder #FedoraCoreOS eine Option wenn es ausschließlich für Container Runtime da ist? Dafür super für test/dev/prod stages falls sowas benötigt wird.

#FedoraCoreOs looks like it's got potential but there's no extraction of existing configurations available to use on bare metal. (that I can find)
For those that don't know, you write a configuration file for the installation of the operating system and it'll orchestrate the more niggly bits.

#FedoraCoreOS 37 broke my #kubernetes!

Woke up to a broken cluster. The symptom was that the system was unreachable on the network. Rebooting the node brings the network back, but it goes offline again as soon as kubelet starts. It looks like it goes offline as soon as NM brings up kube-dummy-if, although there's nothing obviously wrong there. I'm running #kuberouter for CNI.

Have rolled it back and disabled Zincati everywhere for now until I have time to investigate properly.

#Fedora 37 release party's 🎉 #fedoracoreos presentation raised my interest to try it. Well, it sure is nice small os for containers. I hadn't tried it before. However I've run #fedoraiot for years to host my #homeautomation. And have seen Red Hat coreos under #OpenShift. I can recommend similar Fedora-IoT https://getfedora.org/iot/
