Estoy negociando el poder adquirir una para poder usarla de manera personal. En lo que me dan la aprobación, me traje una a casa para probar. Funciona 100% bien con #FedoraLinux 38. Parece que la batería, a pesar de tener unos 5 años, todavía funciona bien.
De verdad es una tristeza este desperdicio de equipo funcional.

Tengo un escáner (Epson Perfection 610) desde hace 22 años. Me encanta que Windows, con el paso de los años, deje de dar soporte a hardware perfectamente funcional. Acabo de usarlo en mi computadora con #FedoraLinux 38 cual si fuera 2001.
Una de las muchas razones por las que soy fan de #Linux, el hardware es inservible hasta que realmente no funciona.

The genie is out of the bottle. I had some great conversations y'day about the validity and implementation of telemetry, to help devs make a better product. We are way beyond that now. Wonder what PR firm Big Blue employs. Snafu.

I implore any of the #Fedora #Linux contributors out there that might see this, please do not back the new telemetry proposal. I know telemetry can be incredibly valuable for improving the product offered by Fedora and I'm sure some great improvements can be made with it but I see this as your Amazon Lens moment.

If #FedoraLinux goes ahead with this it doesn't matter that the user can opt-out, it doesn't matter that the data is generic, it doesn't matter that it's anonymized, for now until the end of time Fedora will be called a spyware distro. You will hurt community trust in the project far more than anything you will gain from improving the software and I really don't want to see that happen.

Yesterday I decided to install @Vivaldi in a Fedora Silverblue. Created a dedicated toolbox for it, then extracted and modified the .desktop file and icons to integrate it with the base menu launcher.

Now I still have two issues:
1: can't choose it as the default browser
2: the icon used to launch it, is not the one once the window is active (attached screenshot)

Anyone with some pointers on how to solve these issues?

I recently swapped out Manjaro (had Linux Mint for ages before that) for Fedora 38 with my favorite XFCE desktop.

It's beautiful and runs great. Hopefully it becomes a keeper. It has been a long time since I've used an RPM-based distro, not since the old Red Hat days.

I like very fresh kernels and apps. Fedora has 'em.

Schreibe momentan an einem Artikel zu FIDO2 / U2F Sicherheitsschlüsseln wie SoloKey2, YubiKey5 oder NitroKey3.

Es wird darum gehen wie diese Keys mit standard tools eingerichtet und für Login in Linux oder OpenSSH eingesetzt werden können (am beispiel Fedora Linux). Vielleicht nehme ich auch gleich LUKS decdyption mit auf, sonst kommt das hinterher

I have a few more objections to Fedora-Cinnamon integration, but first I will reinstall the whole thing and install vanilla #Gnome version. I need to see how my three monitors are being handled because I can't afford crashes during work. #Linux #FedoraLinux
