I put up a tiny hummingbird feeder Saturday. I figured since I got thumped in the back of the head late last week, that was a hint from the bird to get with the program.
I expect it will be heading south very soon, but it visited today! And the mix in there is pure sugar water, no dye etc. I replaced the mix with fresh, just now.

The #hummingbird #bird #feeder is extremely popular. In fact, I put up a second one and they are usually both empty before they obviously need cleaning.

I've only seen two drinking at a time (but once I think I saw a third fly by) but they visit a LOT. If you stand and watch for 10 minutes you'll probably see 3-5 visits.

It only just now occurred to me that they may be making trips back to feed baby birds.

I had a talk with Ripley, the #NorthernFlicker who has been abusing my hanging #suet #feeder and inadvertently feeding the #BlueJays.

She explained that if I'd taken the simple precaution of looking up her size on the internet and measuring the perch distance, we wouldn't be having this problem, ya jerk.

These photos demonstrate her situation with the aid of a #plush #GiantAnteater which is bigger than Ripley, but has the same length legs-to-snout.

Wo ich nun aber alle Quellen als .opml-Datei vorliegen hatte, habe ich gleich die Gelegenheit genutzt und beide Smartphones mit der #Feeder-App von F-Droid ausgestattet. Die letzten Jahre habe ich dort wegen des lokalen Gebrauchs kein RSS betrieben. Von der Dopplung zur Quadropplung(?) … aber egal 😉

Encontré una alternativa #opensource, no tan buena, pero safaba, se llama #feeder, peroooo... XD
Encontré una alternativa realmente buena y también opensource llamada feedme, que lamentablemente no está en #FDroid esta en la play store, aunque no busque si existe alguna repo para agregar a fdroid. Después existen más, pero para usar con un servidor personal como Tiny Tiny rss.

Por agregar algunos que probe:

FlymRss sirve para sincronizar tu celular y tu pc, pero con protocolos locales, sin usar Internet o la NUBE (cada tanto me daba errores)

SpaRss es similar al anterior (da los mismos errores)

Y por último reader rss (no me gustó la interfaz)

New squirrel-proof feeder from our daughter, traded for our old one. Feed processed in the food processor (haha...) to reduce the waste from the wasteful finches. They can empty this feeder in about 24 hours, and a lot of it ends up on the ground. #birds #finch #feeder
