Testing:

Feeds для GNOME — это полный провал. Чудовищно тормозная софтина ещё и сама по себе падает. Возможно проблема с flatpak через который она была установлена. Но даже если не учитывать выше описанные косяки ей нельзя пользоваться как rss-ридером. Люди которые давно работают с подписками не смогут обрабатывать информацию в этой примитивной программе. А те которым такой упрощённый интерфейс зайдёт уже пользуются твитером и rss для них это что-то что давно умерло

Mastodon has another interesting and useful feature, RSS feeds.
If you are an RSS feed reader like me, you can add Mastodon URL's to you feeder like so:

<domain.name>/@<user>.rss

for example mine would be:

https://fosstodon.org/@mbt3d.rss

That way you can keep up with your favourite accounts and you don't even have to follow them.

But even before using just feeds to watch videos always find it a good idea if channels shout out other channels, I have found so many interesting videos and channels in this way.

I personally have not watched YouTube directly from the website for years, only watching specific channels through feeds. So I don't rely on the algorithm to recommend stuff to me. The only way I find new channels to watch is by channels recommend each other or if I actively search and seek out different topics that interest me.

ich teste gerade mal mastodon #apps auf #android aus.

Am besten gefällt mir im moment #megalodon. Ein guter funktionsumfang, schnell und komfortabel zu bedienen.

Danach kommt bei mir die #mastodon app. Sie ist vergleichbar. Mir fehlt das folgen von #hashtags und ans profil pinnen.

Dann gibt es noch #tusky. Diese #app ist von den #feeds her nicht gleich ersichtlich so umfangreich. Pluspunkte sind das #direktnachrichten #postfach und die #listen.

Interessant finde ich auch #tooot.->

The Feedbro Web browser extension started picking up Twitter feeds again (it hasn't worked since June 30)... even though I still can't see Twitter profiles publicly through a Web browser - a login is still required. What wizardry is this?? 🧙🏻‍♂️

Do you use an #RSS reader to follow academic #journals? I've just started doing this, and it seems like a no-brainer, but I've never hear of people doing it. Most journals have #feeds available with the notable exception of #DeGruyter journals.

@amberage "Feedbro" is solid, reliable & configurable [i hate the name though; so damn phallocentric, yuck!].

"Smart RSS Reader" gets a worthy mention [alas, it tends to suffer from non-fetching some feeds, but recurrent necro-fetching for others; when it behaves, it's pretty great].

#Canadian #media - well, the #legacy ones at least - are up in arms over the fact that #Meta / #Facebook is planning to block #news from appearing in #feeds in #Canada.

You managed to get a# law passed that means they would have to #pay you for the privilege of #linking to you, didn't you?

Now they get to choose whether to continue linking to you, or not.

You can't have it both ways with "You must link to us, but you must pay us to link".

I think they're in for a rude #webstats awakening.
