@SaoirseIsLive I firmly believe that Musk was only about #FeeSpeech from day one. He decided he could do whatever he wanted because he rounded up enough money to buy Twitter outright. He immediately brought all the toxic sycophants back to Twitter, which might have been a fatal blow by itself, because he paid the money for the site. He's been issuing edict after edict that fly in the face of reason since that point, again because he had the money and could do what he wants.

Anyway, it's probably about time everyone switched to something decentralized like Mastodon, because centralized control of a forum has *always* been vulnerable to a "site purchase attack" (see also G4 and Freenode) and maybe it's good people were reminded that not only is free speech worth protecting, that it needs specifically to be protected against #FeeSpeech where money has the final say about what is right and what is wrong.
