"We are not alone. We have each other."
Eight years after drafting the collaboratively developed Feminist Principles of the Internet, APC’s Women’s Rights Programme convened in Bangkok, Thailand:
[en] In 2001 I made a bunch of interviews at the 3rd cyberfeminist international about what cyberfeminism means. The most visible thing back then was cyberfeminism's whiteness and rooting in academia. Thr term was a shell that was waiting to be filled with meaning. Now, people are postulating a feminist internet that wants itself to be intersectional, but yet again originates in academia and the global north and it looks way too often like an empty shell to me. #cyberfeminism #feministinternet

"Memestrilism" 🎬💻📱
Produced as the culmination of the first Feminist Internet Residency by artist Ama Ogwo, Memestrilism is a film that explores the digitisation of minstrelsy and the ventriloquism of Blackness online. Working with found footage from social media and the minstrel shows of the 20th century Ama collapses time to illustrate how racism has taken on a new but familiar form in the digital age.

What does building an #intersectional feminist
internet look like?
by Nani Jansen Reventlow
This internet would be based on a holistic understanding of where “cyberspace” resides. Not in some fictional space, separated from the “material world”, but intertwined with all aspects of our lives, and therefore interconnected with all our human rights; not just privacy and expression, but the full spectrum of rights, including the rights to science, culture, and education, health, and social security.
"we should start by dismantling the racist, capitalist patriarchy. Others are much better at formulating the roadmap to making that happen — I am just a lawyer and I focus on making the law work as a tool that can contribute to that change."
