Council introduces laws to help protect endangered koalas from dogs
"Dog owners living in parts of the Gold Coast must now follow strict rules or face fines under tough laws designed to keep koalas safe...New laws in a Queensland city mean people who live in designated koala habitat area must prevent their dogs from attacking the animals, by providing a range of options so the marsupials can enter and escape."
"Each year, probably about 100 koalas get taken into animal hospitals … due to dog attacks, around about 75 per cent of them die — so it's a major issue."
"The proposed new laws have been designed to help protect koalas by ensuring dog owners in designated koala areas provide koala-friendly backyards"

I'm a #StructuralEngineer by day, working mostly in #steel and #concrete. I do everything, but a lot more moving #bridges and #canal locks than most. Some #dams. All my stuff is old, so it's mostly about safety and reliability.
Second job: very willing farmhand for @PickwickSheprd, who I think mostly puts up with me because she was crazy enough to marry me. We raise #sheep and she trains #sheepdogs. I fix the old #tractors and help run #fences and #buildings.

I use this to step over wire fences while hiking. It's a little pricey but a much safer way to jump such fences.

Building #walls and #fences on our external #borders with EU money is totally unacceptable to us!
The EPP proposed an amendment to do so in the last EP report on the EU #budget. The amendment passed, but we managed to stop the final report.
No #eu money will go to finance EU walls!

I used to frequently drive by this neighborhood garden just to delight in the colorful flowers and unique dish border in front of the fence. They always had something pretty planted for everyone to see.
