Still sounds good. Maybe these pickups have a passive failsafe. 🤔
Let me see if I even have two ready rechargable 9v's.
I could swear I opened this thing a few months ago. Maybe I imagine things too much.
I also thought that my model was older and only the newer ones had two batteries. Guess I'm just crazy.

Wife found me a beat up #fretless #fender at a #yardsale.
Sadly it was a mess, #bridge was shot, neck was twisted, the nut was filed below the #fretboard... no lie...!
So I ordered some replacement parts from #Fender directly... a new #HiMass bridge, a new "fretted" #JazzBass neck, some slick #nutfiles from #NomadMusic (slots on the neck are guides only) and some #DR #BlackBeauties
It turned out awesome...!
It weighs exactly 1lb heavier than my go to staple #Spector...

Every instrument has a story. My first bass was a GT MicroBass bought fall 2018. Easy to play & sounds great. But I also want a full-size #bassguitar. Over the next summer, I borrowed a series of basses. The 3rd was an entry-level Yamaha that was quite nice, and I expected to buy a Yammy.
I then found this spotless 2010 MIA #Fender J in the local music store for a price that was too good to pass up. I later saw similar basses on-line for almost double the price!

Got a call from the dealer I purchased my Fender Strat from letting me know that there was a hard shell case containing the tremolo bar and documentation that went with it. I had just assumed that they no longer provided cases with the guitars. The case is seriously cool, but not quite as cool as the chainsaw case I had for my 70’s Gibson Les Paul (until it was stolen).

Finally picked up my guitar after what felt like a 1 year hiatus (it might have been!). Started working on AC/DC's T.N.T. and found it came back pretty quickly. PHEW! I was worried that I was all the way back to learning how to play "Happy Birthday"! LOL!
