As a Festivus gift to myself and the spouse, I got sapodillas from an online source.

Sapodillas are among very, very few things I miss from the Florida years. They taste like pears soaked in caramel and cinnamon syrup.

I'm not sure why sapodillas aren't more widely available - maybe because they resemble ugly dinosaur eggs? Or the wickedly barbed, poisonous seeds?
