I had two runs this morning, to and from Woodley parkrun where I was volunteering as Timekeeper.

I took a different route home for #WhoSquaresWins, a running game on #FetchEveryone

I made a visit to Didcot parkrun this morning. A friendly crowd of 237 participants. Three laps around the park, then a run out alongside the railway line.

This Saturday, I am heading across town to Prospect #parkrun. I haven't run that course since 2019 so it will be interesting to see how I do.

I ran my 200th parkrun this morning at Woodley achieving a 4-year, post-pandemic PB. I've still away to go before I'm back to 2018/19 times but enjoying running again. #parkrun #Woodley #FetchEveryone

1. Gardening: transplanted the ailing rhubarb and pulled out some catsear and filled a hole in the lawn. Mum's happy!
2. Drafted the preface for 3rd edition of China's Magical Creatures (publishing it soon for portfolio for the job search)

I just smashed out a 3.5km run during my lunch break. It was a comfortable pace. I feel my fitness and stamina are gradually returning to 2019 levels. #fetcheveryone

I attended #Woodleyparkrun No.476 this morning. Firstly to assist with setup and then to run. Achieved a personal best doing setup, not so good at the run though. I can always try again next week. #loveparkrun #fetcheveryone

Not a great end to 2022 but I've had my best running year ever. Massive HM PB at Cardiff. Age grade PB at Weston. Representing South at Welsh Inter Regional XC. First event abroad at Amsterdam Half. Didn't quite manage 2500 miles for the year, wasn't to be this time!

Given how post-COVID has looked for many runners, preparing for the worst in terms of how long it might take to get back to baseline. But loads of big positives to remember if it takes a while to get back.
