@PhilippBayer Feudalism is the wrong word for what @pluralistic is describing. What's particular about feudalism was not lords living off rents, but rather the long chains of reciprocal obligations: not just peasant to lord, but lord to peasant and lesser lord to greater lord. A car company doesn't believe it has that sort of permanent obligation to its customers or to some bigger corporation; its contracts are its fundamental obligations.

It's more like the enclosures than like #feudalism.
