Also: a Final Fantasy game where you can jump?! This feels so weird.

Oh, oh! Part of my frustration with this one is I’ve just finished off the DLC for the FFVII remake, and in #FFXV the attack and dodge buttons are swapped (and there’s not an option that swaps those two buttons).

And the chocobo controls don’t line up with Noctis’s? Like, Noctis can sprint and jump too, why not keep those two functions mapped to the same buttons for chocobo?

#FFXV is weird. The general gameplay is enjoyable. The mechanics are cool.

The combat is hit and miss, though easier now that I have the ultima blade and have realised that weapons in your slots impact non-attack stats even when they’re not being actively used. Before this I was easily getting one or two shotted or getting mobbed.

The story feels like it comes in fits and starts, but is also interesting.

The map/quest/car interface is fucking gross though. Integrating the three would have made the game much smoother.

Started playing #FFXV and the vibe is very much ‘4 himbos road trip!’.

The guys are cute, but the introduction of Cindy just highlights how video game character design still fetishises women and not men.

Like, if you’re going to have scantily clad femme characters, the least you can do is make sure there’s equal representation of equally scantily clad masc characters.

I sat down to play some Final Fantasy XV the other night. Ended up finding a pinball machine in-game and spent like half an hour getting almost 1 million points. No regrets. #FFXV

I feel like I'm in a different realm from everyone else with how I feel utterly uninterested in #FFXVI because I feel like this and #FFXV were so male-oriented, I'm tired of playing as moody white men and I'm just like where the frick are the women? Any diversity of cast?

Final Fantasy XV has a really neat photo feature, where one of the characters takes pics while you’re out doing whatever, and when you rest you can look through them and save the ones you like. It’s pretty cool, and negates me having to get cool shots of things almost entirely.

This is one of my current fave shots. I was a little under leveled for this dungeon, so it was a real adventure, and then I had to run up this lava flow to take a pic for another quest. The lava was, in fact, hot and deadly. I got it done, but it was a struggle, and then this shot was one of the photos when I rested that night. Love it!

Well, I stayed up entirely too late playing #FFXV. Used Umbra to go back to the nice area of the game to do some hunts and fishing, and it’s a lot of fun. Much more fun than the grim and dark endgame. 🤣

I didn’t intend to spend the entirety of my Sunday playing #FFXV, but the story is so engrossing, it was impossible to save and quit at any point. Until I got to right before the final battle. I think I want to level up a bit more first and do that on another day. My brain and hands are tired. Been a lot of aggressive gaming the last two days. 🤣

Since the #NoMansSky expedition has a timer blocking me (and everyone else) from finishing it, I started Episode Gladiolus in #FFXV. In my main game, he just got back from a walk about and wouldn’t say where he’d been, so it was the perfect time to do it and find out. Made it to the final boss fight in about an hour, but it was grueling. My hands are so tired, so I’ll do that fight another day. Interesting little story though!

Lin is having lunch and starting the #NoMansSky expedition. I’m using him as a lab rat. If I don’t hear a bunch of cursing and complaining about bugs and crashes, I’ll download the update and play the expedition this weekend. In the meantime, I’ve got side quests to do in #FFXV.

Yesterday, I thought maybe I shouldn’t have started a new video game, what with the expedition coming out for #NoMansSky today. Now I’m thinking it was a good thing I started #FFXV, because I spent my day off playing a game and really enjoying it, rather than being cranky that consoles haven’t gotten the new #NMS update yet.

The next #NoMansSky lore heavy update has dropped! Expedition 10 Singularity and a bunch of bug fixes coming soon on a platform near you! If you need me, I’ll be playing #FFXV while checking for the PS5 update every five minutes. 🤣
