BAC 1-11-475AM The BAC 1-11 was a moderately successful twin-engine jetliner (similar in configuration to the MD-80, Fokker 100, etc). This example - preserved at #Brooklands #Museum, #Weybridge, #UK - was a demonstrator for the then experimental 'Fly By Light' #fibreoptic #controlsystem. #BAC #airliner #aviation #technology #commercialaviation #aviationphotography #photography

(Looked at it. Thought about it.)
That's not exactly what I was seeking; that's more of a #matrix of multitudinous #fibreoptic cables being physically aligned with the matrix of an #LED display. I'm hoping for more of a one-to-one coupler, LED-to-fibre. Like perhaps a holster into which the fibre gets plugged, which fits over an LED, in its most hackish visualisation.
Still, following up for sourcing fibre..
Yeah, I need a few metres of #fibreoptic cable suited to transmission of #ultraviolet (#UV) light, some UV #LEDs, and whatever gimcrackery is needed to feed the LEDs into the fibre. I suppose there are special tools for cutting fiberoptics; they may not be glass anymore, but you probably want a reasonably (if not optically) flat surface on the ends..
Meh, need to research some place to read up on this shite. 🤔
