Delighted to manage a little #accordion practice, playing lots of my own arrangements. Here was my quick initial warm up today, playing Sunrise Sunset from #FiddlerOnTheRoof. I first played this in the late 1980s for the #Hawick High #School #show production. I also played the accordion for school shows of Joseph and Oliver in other years. Back then I was playing on my larger red accordion bought in 1981. That's still my main box. Today I was playing my smaller blue model. #musicals #squeezebox

#ChaimTopol, the spirited Israeli actor and singer who portrayed #Tevye the milkman in #FiddlerontheRoof on stages all around the world and in an Oscar-nominated turn in Norman Jewison’s 1971 film adaptation, has died. He was 87.

Topol died Thursday in Tel Aviv after a long illness.

RIP Chaim #Topol of #FiddlerOnTheRoof fame. Watching the film in the 70s, I though him so old but in reality was only in his mid 30s when the film was made. Great actor, great role.

I just finished (the second half) of Fiddler on the Roof.

I didn’t like it. That film is LOOOOOOONG.

Admittedly it might be because I didn’t sleep well, but it dragged and dragged. Yentl, loved, this, didn’t.

Caveats:

1. I generally don’t like musicals turned into movies
2. It’s an old movie so I shouldn’t judge it by today’s standards
