I enjoyed the #CelticMusic stage for brief time after my shift. Some great #fiddling #performers came to entertain the crowds at Victoria Highlands Games.

@JaneHadley What do you want to read about or plan to write about? The theory is that an #introduction page or two with those topics as hashtagged keywords will lead folks to you. So far, I'm not finding much regional #journalism in #BlueRidge #Appalachia where I live, but a little about #fiddling, #banjos, #mandolins, #oldtimemusic, #oldtimeradio and other things I'm interested in.

Hey hey fiddle players, anyone done any online learning and enjoyed it? Something with beginner to intermediate levels. I'm pretty open to anything, it could be lessons with a teacher over Zoom or a whole program/school. I have a session to go to once a month now, and I'm excited to see if I can get a few jigs back in my fingers (am told to start with The Butterfly!). 🎻

#Introduction post take two!

I originally signed up on mastodon.social but moved to mstdn.social this evening. So, re-introduction!

I'm a forty-something husband and #dad (of both a son, and two #cats). Politically, I lean very left, and consider myself an unabashed #liberal, and member of #Democratic party. Hobbies include: #guitar, #banjo, and #fiddling (though I'm just learning that last one).

Since I migrated, I will be re-following some of you. Sorry for the confusion, in advance!

Hmmm… one part works: SSD can serve the system files. But there’s a problem with writing to the SSD. Mastodon can’t write to it. So I think I’ll have to figure out how to set the permissions right. #fiddling #instance

@silver idk but I enjoy setting up servers for no actual real reason and I have a Kubernetes cluster made of broken laptops that really I could serve with a VM running on my laptop running Minikube but it's cool that I have this shit in a half-height rack in my storage room and a syslog server running on an old netbook, remember those, and a backup server that is literally hanging off my wall
