International Fencing Federation to waive handshake rule
The International Fencing Federation has decided to cancel the mandatory handshake
FIE announced at the conference that Thursday's scandal would allow the traditional post-match handshake to be replaced by a greeting from a distance.
This will allow the Ukrainians not to get close to the Russians, even if they compete in a "neutral" status.

Sie hätte statt #Kharlan disqualifiziert werden müssen, wenn die #FIE ihre eigenen Regeln zum Umgang mit russischen Sportler*innen auch nur ansatzweise ernst nimmt!

The Fencing Federation of Norway will not send its athletes to tournaments due to the admission of Russians and Belarusians to them — an official statement.
In addition, Norway also announced that they would not hold competitions under the auspices of the International Fencing Federation (FIE) on the country's territory.
