Given that one rule of field day is to work portable, i.e. on battery/solar, I am wondering what the most power you can run on battery is 😄
Presumably, inverters are too noisy?

Did a #speedhike to my favorite spot at 702m/2303ft (loc. JN87BX) on Hinterer/Mittlerer Lindkogel before dinner.
Actually just to breath fresh air before the next heatwave arives here, I also went on air on #2m FM. Glad to be the first in the #UKW #VHF logbook on today's field day of OE3NDC/p, OE3TEC and OE3MIF.
They do a fantastic job. Looking forward to their report in the QSP magazine of #OEVSV.
Other than that I just enjoyed #nature. The best idea for today.

That also means cleaning and adjusting my #cw #morse keyers, amongst them, this beauty which has served me well for likely 28 years and continues to do so ❤️🥹
I’m measuring the paddle pressure with a #dynamometer, a surprisingly expensive little instrument, but well worth the purchase: the balance between dashes and dots becomes absolutely perfect 🤩
I actually prefer somewhere between 20 and 30 gram, but these old #HI-MOUND are difficult to get below 35. The springs are getting old I guess ☺️

Another semi successful #hamradio #fieldday. I meant to try my new 10.8m #randomwireantenna and #ARDOP #pat but apparently living in a mega city with buildings and #rf pollution makes things hard. Barely connected OE5XIR and HB9AK with 10 watts on 20 and 30 meter. 4 out of 5 packets fail to decode and connection drops. Good side my linked dipole and random wire rocks 😎 lets get a little higher ground and try again...

I get together a #qrp kit and wonder what might be reasonable to carry along just for in case situations. I got a variety of adapters but besides that everything that I think of just too heavy to justify.
