Ok, I got it wrong, or whatever happened. I went through my soundrecording of today's 30 min. #backyardbirding thinking that I might have heard a Chiffchaff far away.
At the marked place in the recording I didn't hear it, but close to it I did find a faint recording of a yellowhammer flying over 🙂
The filtered recording got confirmed by BirdNet, Merlin and by a soundcloud recording.

eBird is running a competition in September where they ask people to upload at least 20 birding lists with 1 or more sound recordings.
I thought that it is a nice challenge, but I started a bit late. I am only at 4 recordings now (but I might have some more in Merlin).
This focusing on sound does produce some results however.

never appreciated how small the f3 actually is until i got it today. i’m fortunate enough to have a mixpre-6 as well, and the size difference is wild

not worth comparing features between these two obviously, but what an awesome device for 2 channel 32-bit float recording; the iOS app is always miles ahead of the sound devices wingman

both are solid as rock, and the quality on the mixpre is top notch, by all accounts the f3 is similar, but i haven't taken it for a spin yet

finally got the right configuration figured out for the LOM Elektrouši on the Mixpre series.

I could not use any adaptors, and had to go through the Mic/Line in. Configured to MIC with a very high gain (>40dB), finally got some cool sounds from them and some electronics kicking around.

Not sure who to ask for this but: I'm traveling soon and need to be able to do voice and ambient audio editing, off an sd card, on an ipad without a computer.

Garageband is far too much, I need simple, intuitive interfaces, like Audio Hijack but for ipad. Don't mind paid but would rather not go for a giant company / sub model if possible.

Any good options?
