The problem with #Twitter was always about who owns it and who gets to be heard. Early days Twitter was like a coffee shop where you hung out with lots of people and shared ideas. Then came the celebrities, and they got VIP treatment. And politicians. And brands. The early users, with accounts plateauing at 500 followers, the ones who had one to one convos with Jack and helped create the space, got pushed out.The next wave of twitter was clout seekers. I wrote a recordPNM plugin for Gem for Pure-data, which lets me pipe uncompressed rgb888 image data to #ffmpeg -f image2pipe in #ppm or #pgm format, using named pipes (aka #fifo, made with mkfifo on Linux).

In comparison to using temporary TIFF files, it's 10x faster and uses less than 0.3% of the disk space for one test case.
