The 50/90 songwriting challenge is underway at https://fiftyninety.fawm.org/ (also @fawm). I expect to churn out at least a few nerdy folk solks over the next three months...

I'm supposed to be asleep. I could blame an unfocused but relatively restful day at home. The heat advisory wasn't bad where we were, but I'm tempted to crack a window to try to cool off closer to the mid-sixties Fahrenheit outside, as our place is perverse about heat retention in the evenings. But I don't want fireworks to sound any louder or closer than they already are. I'm teetering about whether The New Thing I'm Doing means tapping out on this year's @fawm #FiftyNinety challenge.

So #fawm is over and on one hand I'm sad because I feel like I was just getting started. On the other hand I will feel better about exploring other passions (like writing or working out) now.

I wish I had a friendly, inclusive musician community like FAWM, but year-round and not only focused on writing new songs, but also other aspects of being a music creator.

In the meantime, I will flesh out some old and new ideas, try to upgrade my rusty recording skills, and look forward to #fiftyninety.
