We have good #recycling for plastics in my country. So I have a waste basket in my room just for #filaments strings and fails. I call it my bin of shame.

#PLA is made of corn starch and way better for the environment than my main filament, #ABS. With #ABS, I print and stamp the recycling code on it before disposing of it.

I picked it up in a sample pack with 4 other filaments, 250g of each. These include stone gray and marble, but also metalic - which I think is the type with actual iron filings in it which can rust and everything.

I have this idea of printing a moon lamp out of the marble (coloring should complement the text perfectly) and the base out of the metalic.

But I decided to try the wood first. The obligatory baby groot awaits.

Quick question on #3DPrinting #filaments:

I have underfloor heating in my house and whereas I have not tested the humidity I am expecting it to be pretty low (as it usually is in houses with underfloor heating) - as such I am wondering if I will still need to get some filament dryers?

I will be printing PLA PETG Nylon ABS Carbon Fiber

I think I will also want to get a housing for the CR-10 although it will be next to an openable window.
