Really enjoyed Ti West’s PEARL last night. Mia Goth’s 5 minute monologue gave me chills. I love that it’s kind of a slow burn and takes place during the Spanish Flu pandemic in 1919. There’s definitely some subtle commentary from West on how humans haven’t evolved much in some regards. It’s a prequel to a horror movie but it doesn’t quite fit the mold “X” sets up, which is a good thing.
