I'm in this to the end with Avatar 2, but I'm not going to be happy about it.

I typically don't tap out of movies unless they're really morally/ethically dubious AND/OR extremely painful.

Case in point, I tapped out of Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star after about 35 minutes, because man was not meant to endure that kinda pain.

This movie SERIOUSLY had Colonel Quidditch recording an "oh, hey, I'm making a video about cloning myself in case they kill me in the first movie looooooooool" bit of exposition, and I am *so freaking mad* at this movie and there's three hours left to go and oh gawd why

I finally caved in and start watching the Avatar sequel on Max.

I just want to say that I'm more annoyed that Papyrus is the official font of Avatar than a person should reasonably be annoyed by such a thing.

I would have been infinitely less offended by Comic Sans being the official font of the Avatar movies.

I never knew this😱 (most people probably did🤷‍♂️) ....but if you tag a movie you own with "own" or "owned" that movie will display an "Own" icon in the "where to watch" section on the movie.

I already had an ongoing list created of movies I own....I just tagged the list with "own" and this populates this on every movie in the list👍

Again this may have been common knowledge and I'm just late to the party😂

1955: Bad Day at Black Rock

REALLY strong contenders here. Ask me on another day, and this could be Rififi, The Night of the Hunter, Diabolique, Samurai II: Duel at Ichijoji Temple, I Live in Fear, Summertime, or Smiles of a Summer Night.

As of now, I give the win to John Sturges' almost unbearably tense and suspenseful neo-Western, Bad Day at Black Rock.

Spencer Tracy gives a performance that's as compelling as the day is long as a one-armed veteran who travels to a small, isolated desert town in 1945, looking for a man named Komoko. The townspeople are just as secretive about Komoko as Tracy is about his agenda, and a clash is inevitable.

An absolute gut-churner of dread and foreboding. From Tracy's dignified portrayal to cold-blooded adversaries in Robert Ryan and Ernest Borgnine, Sturges directs this with such control, precision, and tightness.

This has an atmosphere you can feel in your bones.

Turner Classic Movies has announced the end of TCM Underground, effective after its final movies on February 24th.

That... oof. I gotta tell y'all, that sucks. It rocked to have those cult movies available and showcased in such a fashion.

And really, TCM is one of the rare channels that has remained consistently, unceasingly solid... up to now.

I don't know what this says about the greater implications of what's going on at the network, but damn. The channel's never taken a gigantic leap backwards like this. Is anything else there going to fall because of corporate shenaniganery? Like Silent Sundays or Noir Alley?

Just... ugh.
