I so hoped we could save it. I have decades of memories there, shared with old friends, made with new friends; some of those friends are now gone.

I discovered a far wider world of cinema - which meant a wider world because of what it exposed to me. Gone. Depressed.

At this time of year, I should be enjoying the festive screening season in the Filmhouse, but it and the Edinburgh International Film Festival went into administration in autumn. So these once welcoming doors and windows are now sealed up with cold, metal sheets. Hate seeing it like this...
