For editing content in the past, I’ve used #Filmora. I do like the software but I’ve been seeing that a lot of people tend to use #DaVinciResolve as it’s more advanced and free to use.

Anyone got any experience of using DaVinci Resolve and have any tips for beginners?

@mav @nomadgeek For me, #Filmora / #Wondershare was always a bit sketchy and I never really liked their apps. One might also say that they „hijacked“ certain SEO keywords with their own blog posts, on the surface giving some very basic information on something and then nudging you towards their products as the best solution in a not-so-subtle way…

As one of the people using Wondershare #Filmora (in my case FilmoraGo for Android) I was pretty pissed off to find out they were no longer honoring lifetime #license for the desktop version. So I'm looking for a new #videoeditor for #Android, preferably one you can actually buy, and reminding everyone that on desktops @kdenlive exists and is absolutely wonderful software.

Always interesting to watch how companies can believe that their changing the wording on EULA's can shield themselves from the bad press those changes create. The #Filmora shenanigans along with putting a copyright strike on someones video which was a sponsored video no less, screams inefficient PR team.

Ein YouTuber, der bisher als Influencer für Filmora aktiv und viele Tutorials dazu erstellt hat, berichtet enttäuscht darüber, Filmora lässt das Video entfernen. Sowas geht gar nicht! So einen Software-Anbieter sollte man meiden.

As a holder of lifetime licenses for various services/software, I view purchasing a lifetime license as an investment into a company or product that is seeking to build a good reputation.

Canceling those licenses also cancels that good reputation.

Coucou Mastodon ! J'aurais besoin de vos lumières : j'utilise debian/gnome et j'ai téléchargé le fichier .exe de Filmora (logiciel de montage vidéo). Je pensais le retrouver dans le gestionnaire de paquets pour l'exécuter mais en fait non. Est-ce que j'ai oublié de faire quelque chose ? Bonne journée à toustes !
