As a (secret) SHAST Agent, Savas’ job is to protect humanity at all costs to himself and individuals. His work is humanity as a whole. I suppose he became a villain the first time he had to utilize this and make a decision that unfairly hurt another, though he personally never views his job as villainous.

An unknown fact about my book, The Calling is that originally Eka had several chapters in his POV. Those got switched over to Kahali’s POV, which is quite ironic if you’ve read the story.😂
The only published work in Eka’s POV is my novella, The Cords That Bind, currently on a .99 Sale.

#WordWeavers: What could you change about your world to make it better for most people?

This is a hard one, because I’d love to live with the star beings in my future ice age book world. The humans and Ruined have major issues. I’ll stick to the humans to avoid spoilers. If they didn’t have the Sickness ravaging their population, that would improve things dramatically, but then they also might never have risked the arctic Surface to find other humans.

#WritingWonders : Who is the first character you created for this work?

As crazy as it might sound, I didn’t create any of the main characters in my series. The first one I met was the star being Rana, who first came to me in a dream. That same night, in a series of dreams she gave me the whole series, and the gist of the others, who then introduced themselves over the next few days. It was my first book, and I just went with the way it came to me. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Fifteen-year-old Atsushi has never felt fully accepted by his family, so he’s thrilled to find a mentor and really wants the connection to work out. However, because of spoilers, Atsushi finds himself torn between needing a gun to protect himself and his mentor who is strictly teaching non-violence. I won’t say more.

#WritingWonders: In your MC’s mind, what’s the worst thing they’ve done?

All my human characters do their own worst thing during the plot and it would be a spoiler.
Rana hasn’t done it, but fears the worst thing about her is that her parents conceived her when they weren’t Crowned (the final metamorphosis stage of star beings). This has never happened before in recorded history.
Kahali has no regrets at the start of the series.

For 18 yo Bleu, it’s mostly lack of skills. When Commander Savas verbally attacks him, he knows he doesn’t have the same knowledge, skills & authority to answer back quite as well. He still stands up for his beliefs & friends, but often after the confrontations feels he could have done a better job representing himself. He also feels his lack of skills in nonviolence when he’s around the star beings, especially Kalakanya.

Meet Bleu and Kalakanya from my future ice age series. It’s a bit awkward falling for a telepathic star being and not knowing if she feels the same way while she can tune into your every thought. Add to that the complication that you’re both on opposite sides and your concerned friends are watching your every move.
I had so much fun writing this adorable scene. 🥰

#WritingWonders: What is your MC’s most annoying trait?

Though Bleu isn’t overall an impulsive person, he has his moments of bursting out with the wrong words or impulsively taking action that he should have thought more about first. At least, that’s what annoys him the most about himself. Savas finds everything about him annoying, like him “useless” fascination with tracking (not much to track in an underground haven) & his willingness to get along with star beings. #FindingHumanitySeries
