The verdigris-covered dome and golden finials of Ocean Chambers on West George Street in Glasgow have a special place in my heart. They are one of the first architectural features I remember looking at in Glasgow when I was young and thinking 'Wow, that's amazing!'.

Probably my favourite finial in the whole of Glasgow. It can be found at the very top of Burnet's Merchant House on George Square.

One of the distinctive and iconic corn sheaf finials on the gable ends of the Bishop Mills on Old Dumbarton Road in the Partick area of Glasgow. It was built for William Wilson, a miller and grain merchant in 1839 on the site of the much older medieval Mill of Partick.

Flèche or Spirelets, like this one Temple Primary School, are a common feature on older public buildings in Glasgow. Unlike Finials, which are placed on the apex of a building, Flèches are often placed in the middle of the roofline.

This is because all three were the work of the same sculpture, and indeed were even cast from the same mould!
