Really diggin' #IPv6.

Today, I was able to get #pfSense to split the /56 IPv6 network my ISP delegated to me into two /64s on two different interfaces.

I'm still learning IPv6 -- but the size of the address space JUST BLOWS ME AWAY.

That #FiOS /56 has given me 256 /64-sized subnets each allowing for 18,446,744,073,709,551,616 hosts.

Wow...just WOW!

Tip: I use "word addresses" like ::fade.c0de:beef:0000 in DHCP6 to differentiate hosts in each /64.

Well shit... I tried #verizon #fios tech support AGAIN, asking about IPv6 and got a brick wall about "enable it in your router". Fuck you! I have my own router, and I tried both NDP and DHCPv6.

Problem: I was apparently getting a $10 discount for paperless billing. Last bill that discount was removed and my bill is $10 higher.

I am petty enough to go back to paper bills if they don't remove the charge.

@hcmarks no, Orbi. Yesterday I (stupidly) tried to add Verizon’s router into my (perfectly stable) setup, and ended up having to factory reset the Orbi to get back to a workable state.

After some finagling (most of my gear was expecting a 10.0.0.x subnet rather than the default 192.168.1.x, and also the Orbi wanted to be on LTE rather than Ethernet) almost everything was functional… (1/2)
