An oddity from a #FWA2023 hotel: the rooms in the Hyatt Regency secondary tower thing have some basic residential-grade BRK/First Alert smoke detectors in them. At least they're obviously photoelectric or combo, but... C'mon now Hyatt operator, that's no way to run a #FireAlarm system. I have higher-quality, more commercial-suitable detectors (Gentex S1209+GN503) in my actual house.

Good morning everyone, now you might be wondering why I'm up way earlier than normal? That's because some fucking bastard decided to just pull the damn fire alarm, well there goes my deep sleep, great fucking morning for me. :blobfoxlaughsweat:

A burst pipe causing #FireAlarm and a flood on two floors, requiring liaison with #Insurance, #Plumber, #Electrician and Alarm company, whilst trying to mop up ensured the #WorldCup was nowhere near my thoughts today.

Not exactly #Winning, but....

Great start to the day. Awoken by #FireAlarm. No fire, but burst pipe which has flooded 2 bedroom ceilings (earthing the fire sensors) and walls. Managed to isolate pipe and (eventually) silence alarm. Plumber expected & insurance contacted. Now have #Headache
