Today, the digitisation of books and archive holdings is welcomed by researchers, allowing access to material that may be hard to find or even otherwise unobtainable. However, it’s always nice to acquire a new book - ‘Miscellaneous Papers on Mechanical Subjects’ by Joseph Whitworth (London. 1858). #firearmshistory #hexbore @militaryhistory
Away for a couple of days and nice to see the seasonal postal delays are catching up. Returned home to find newsletters from the Arms and Armour Society and the Historical Breechloading Smallarms Association, plus ‘Salient Points’, the magazine of the Great War Group. #firearmshistory @militaryhistory
Published earlier this month and just arrived in the post today - Volume 2 of Brian Knapp's 'The Capping Breech Loader in British & Colonial Military Service'. Good to have a nice set of reference books on the capping breech-loader. Sponsored by the Royal Armouries, Leeds. #firearmshistory @militaryhistory See - http://www.researchpress.co.uk/index.php/news/capping-breech-loader
