By accident, I have just started a #firefox instance on an old profile, which still had #duckduckgo as the default search engine. I was super frustrated by the search results, started my current profile, entered the same couple searches with my new default engine #kagi and got happy again: Kagi just gives me what I want and not some SEO crap.
Not going back. #kagi please keep up the quality!

I don’t use #GoogleChrome, but for this of you that do, time to read about the #PrivacySandbox.
“Software costs money to develop. If you’re not paying towards that, then it’s likely you – or your data – are the product. We need to revolutionise how we think about our own data and what value it truly holds.”

I think it is a #mozilla product mistake that progressive web apps are essentially unsupported for #firefox on Windows.
Requiring an Addon install drastically hurts desktop PWA adoption. The Addon then next requiring users to install one of these options as a next step is a disaster.
What is the Firefox vision? That people should use containers (also an addon) or just only use tabs?
About ten years ago, I switched from #Firefox to #Chrome, largely for security reasons—I read that Firefox security was so bad that Pwn2own stopped giving prizes for breaking it. Has Firefox gotten better since then?
I'm considering switching back for #privacy, but the thing is, I have a certain amount of trust in Google—they'll use my data, but I feel pretty sure they won't have a data breach. (I used to work there; I have some idea how much effort is put into keeping their systems secure.) If I switch to an insecure #browser, and get hacked, it won't be much comfort that the browser company didn't get my data.

With all the negative privacy rumblings about Chrome and how wonderful Firefox is, I thought I'd try Firefox as my default browser. As expected, it's not a simple switch trying to get 1Password 7 to work, and fixing all my automations. I'll keep slogging at it until I encounter a show-stopper. For scripting I rely on Chrome's single file page save a lot, which Firefox doesn't seem to have, although I've installed an extension.
That said if you still want to switch to #Firefox, go ahead and do so.
If you make the switch to Firefox or area already doing so, make sure to use plugins like EFF's PrivacyBadger and some kind of adblocker like UBlock Origin. Also turn on Private Browsing Mode.
Use a good password manager like BitWarden or 1Password.
And consider a solid VPN such as ExpressVPN.

So it's significant that @leo and #stevegibson who are #Firefox fanboys and adblocking evangelists have a broadly positive take on #Google #Topics (they still prefer Firefox!).
They suspect that Google sees the writing on the wall. As demands for #privacy online grow louder and legislation follows, Google wants to be prepared, so they're working on a compromise.

As for @leo and #stevegibson they frequently engage with issues surrounding #adtech #tracking and #privacy
They *really* know how user tracking works and all the ways in which we are tracked.
Steve in particular is a big fan of #Firefox and adblockers (so am I). This podcast has turned me on to a lot of privacy-preserving tools that I now use regularly and recommend to other people.

So, that #Chrome is bad is a no-brainer, but it looks like MS Teams will not work completely (video calls + audio) in #Firefox. And I don't mean it in the "change UA settings" way, I guess Microsoft just uses something specific to Chrome's engine on it, I think.
So if you depend on this shitty app for work but don't wanna use Chrome (or the desktop client), what do you do? Honest #question.
Red it, forgot it re-found it in my n-th tab of my i-th #firefox browser profile on my j-th notebook.
Lets note it to mastodon, for later use :D

@WestphalDenn I have no issues using latest #Firefox builds with JaWS. The latency issues we had in the past are gone.
