Firefox Klar/Focus auf ShiftOS-L, das auf AOSP basiert. Evtl. liegt es an den Privatsphäreeinstellungen, aber das ist nur geraten (gibt es da ggf. nur lokale Zugriffsrechte innerhalb der BRD?). Könnte genauso ein „fehlender“ Google-Dienst sein? (Da kenne ich mich gar nicht aus.)

Everyday I find a reason to hate #bugzilla more. It's cumbersome and ugly and not mobile friendly. Today I wanted to investigate whether the patches that fixed tab reordering for #FirefoxForAndroid landed and whether there was anything filed for the excessive battery brain I'm seeing. But ugh, I ended up giving up. #Firefox needs a strong community, but the community interfaces are such a turn-off. #Mozilla needs to do better.

My #FirefoxNightly is crashing. Well #FirefoxforAndroid nightly to be exact. I hope I'm not the only one having #Firefox problems today.

There was an interesting conversation on Reddit talking up #Brave and as with all browser conversations, the discussion came to #FirefoxforAndroid. The commenters were saying how it felt clunky and disorganised and dated. Honestly, as someone who uses #Firefox as their primary browser they're not completely wrong. There's tonnes of room for improvement. Mobile should be #Mozilla's top priority and yet it feels like an afterthought.

I just learned how to get #Firefox on #Android to run my favorite add-ons, including #BypassPaywallsClean.

Step 1: Download Firefox for Android Nightly: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.mozilla.fenix

Step 2: Create a Firefox account or log into your existing Firefox account.

Step 3: Create a collection on AMO (this can be done on the desktop): https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-use-collections-addonsmozillaorg

Step 4: Enable debug mode in Firefox for Android Nightly and configure it for Custom Add-on Collection: https://blog.mozilla.org/addons/2020/09/29/expanded-extension-support-in-firefox-for-android-nightly/

Step 5: Firefox for Android Nightly -> Settings -> Add-ons -> Add-ons Manager. Voila!

Now I can read articles from the Wall Street Journal and other sites on my phone again.

On that btw: #FirefoxForAndroid is internally called #Fennec, which is a beautiful name and appropriate for a very different piece of software, but almost completely unknown publicly.
Similarly #Fenix was quickly renamed to #FirefoxPreview after release.

I'm using a #keepass password storage in my #NextCloud which I access with #KeePassXC on #Linux and #KeePassDX on Android. The Linux version has a #Firefox browser integration. But I have no idea how to access the storage from #FirefoxForAndroid. There doesn't seem to be a plugin. Does the fediverse have any suggestions?
