My favorite #wildflower is #FirePink. It pops up disturbed areas, along woodland trails and after burns (thus its name) in deciduous forests. It is endangered in certain areas.
Its chief pollinator is the Ruby-Throated Hummingbird.
Can’t miss the bright red/crimson/scarlet color of the 5-point star flower. Saw this one on a recent trip to the "Blue Ridge" mountains, in #BlowingRockNC. It has been seen all the way up in Canada.

The Fire pink or scarlet catchfly. Silene Virginica, Native wildflower to the eastern US. There are other species in the western US. It's listed as engaged in a handful of states.
