I finished #Firmament last night, and... wow. It's not a particularly long game, but it's not hard to see why it took five years for #CyanWorlds to develop. This game is beautiful, even on my old machine with the settings turned all the way down. My one gripe is more directed at Cyan in general than this game in particular: they are absolute masters at environmental storytelling, and at creating fascinating, beautiful, richly-detailed worlds that look lived-in and compel you to explore every inch, but are completely devoid of any characters to interact with. Sure, you might get the occasional person who will talk at you through a book, or a recording, or the occasional cutscene, but those are painfully rare, so expect to spend 90% of your time wandering around utterly alone. This still holds true in Firmament, though [redatced]'s monologues help quite a bit. On balance, I'm happy with it, and I'm glad I backed their Kickstarter. If you liked Obduction, I think you'll enjoy Firmament.

I just finished up #firmament from #cyan . Meh. They really missed the mark with this one. The environments lacked any real lore. The Keepers - who are core to the story - are nowhere to be seen. No lore. No journals. Very bizarre for the makers of #myst .

I'm playing in VR, with most of my time spent admiring the views and sense of scale.

Finished playing #Firmament by @cyanworlds tonight. Pretty good. I didn't enjoy it as much as #Obduction for various reasons, but as always I recommend it for people who like MYST-type games. It does have gorgeous graphics, as always.

Might do a blog post about it, as I have a few specific thoughts.

Look who gets a mention in the WWDC keynote. Shame that the chances of #FirmamentGame ever running in VR on the Vision Pro are negligable, given Apple's history with Epic/Unreal.
