I had a nifty C64 word processing program from Compute magazine and some other productivity shareware (like Lucid).
I used the 64 at home until I eventually got a PC.
I did do a video project on a college Toaster once.
This was the families first computer that we ever had. :) #firstcomputer https://www.vintagecomputing.com/index.php/archives/3073/retro-scan-the-tandy-sensation
@kyleford
My first computer (other than directing colonies of ants to perform simple tasks in arroyos), was an Apple IIGS, circa 1986 or ‘87, family computer that cost $2,400, which would cost $6,500 today.
Wrote my first #scifi story on it, did my first cartoon animation of a nuclear sub exploding using BASIC programming, and played a pixelated Indiana Jones game. Floppy discs and a color monitor. Good memories.

What was your first personal computer? Mine (circa 1989): Sanyo MBC 1550, green CRT monitor, two 3.5” drives, DOS 2.x and WordStar. Had to save papers as single space to fit a 15 page paper on one floppy. @timbray what was your first computer? #FirstComputer #ReTootAndRespond

my #firstcomputer was NEC PC-9801VX , MS-DOS run on it. After that PC/AT compatible machines were introduced. Olivetti was so stylish, I recall.
Also, Japanese manufacturers made windows compatible machines.
I bought imported Gateway 2000 PC at a small shop in Akihabara.
What a dinosaur I am!! 😱
The #firstcomputer we had was a TI-99. I remember my dad playing that Invaders game!
