One of the things I miss most about #Wisconsin are the Friday fish fries. Any given Friday, you could go to almost any restaurant and find a fish fry.

In #Louisiana, fish fries seem to be reserved just for Fridays during Lent.

So tonight, we are at the local Catholic Church for the #Lent Friday Fish Fry. #FishFry

Started the #FishFry season with sandwiches from Caliente. 3/10 would not recommend. Bun was fine. Fries were soggy. Fish didn’t look battered by the restaurant. It looked like they’d used something pre-frozen from Sysco or somewhere. It wasn’t overly greasy, otherwise I’d have 1/10’ed them. They included a tartar packet rather than homemade sauce. Very disappointing from Caliente.

Giovanni decided to organize a #fishfry on Drillfield. She bought flounder & bread, & talked to kitchen staff, & invited the campus for a free fish sandwich. “She was talking to me that the students/faculty needed to get together more. I thought ‘She has lost her mind.
