Today I fixed a broken photo stand made of acrylic glass (I believe) using tools from my 3D printing stuff.

First, I applied about three drops of photopolymer resin onto the broken edge using a simple watercolour brush.
I then put the stand into a UV curing chamber for four minutes and now it's solid again and holding the photo in place.

About a ten minute job.

If you buy a metal lamp off the internet you have no way of knowing that the Chinese made 220V lamp holder inside is only protected from electrifying the whole unit by 2 layers of electrical tape, and it's not earthed, unless you have some electrical knowledge... #fixer

Damned good intro. Immediate follow. I need to add #maker or #fixer to my bio since that is 90% of what I do. Have to ask if you watch the Makers Channel? I wrote about Anne Briggs a while back. I was being diagnosed as I discovered her and the channel. I thought she had #adhd just watching the show. And yes she does and found her amazing life story in an interview that is in my post about her.

Okay, der #MCU läuft an, das #SoC rührt sich nicht. Rundherum nichts auffällig. Manuell versorgt -> RST -> nix. Die #NAS wandert also zu den Spendern. Das bekomme zumindest ich kurzfristig nicht gelöst. Schade!

Okay, der Quarz läuft mit 12 MHz an wenn man Power betätigt, behauptet zumindest das PicoScope. Aber der Rest bleibt dunkel... Auch die GPIOs "tun Dinge".

Der ist also erstmal nicht gänzlich tot. Aber was immer er tun will, es gelingt ihm nicht. Pfuu... ich glaub das lege ich erstmal in die Box, das bekomme ich heute nicht mehr gelöst, sonst kaputtreparier ich es noch.

lol, der WT61P803 #MCU ist scheinbar ursprünglich für irgendwelche #Samsung-Fernseher entwickelt worden und kann auch auch #CEC. Hat einen #8052-Core. Garnicht mal schlechter Funktionssatz.

Könnte man auch problemlos eine IR-Fernbedienung mit dran bauen, warum auch immer man das bei einer #NAS brauchen sollte ;-)

This is neat. An old HP Compaq Mini 1101 from about 2009. Atom N270 CPU, 2GB of memory and 160GB SATA hard drive. The cover unclips and pops off to reveal all the main components and the CMOS battery. Even the fan and WiFi module are accessible. When I think about all the laptops I've seen since 2009 that would require at least some disassembly to get to those components...🤷‍♂️ I've got it running a 32bit version of Mint. #RightToRepair #Fixer

Fertig. Hatte kein schwarz mehr, aber dafür habe ich einen stapelbaren Stecker an die neue Zuleitung montiert. Knickschutztülle hatte ich witzigerweise nur eine schwarze passend. Fön läuft und Messwerte sind in Ordnung.

Wieder was vor dem Müll gerettet.

Da mochte jemand seinen Job nicht. Braune Isolation auch da mit Druckstelle, thermischer Schädigung, blaue Ader angeschmort, und in der Lötstelle links sind vielleicht die Hälfte der Adern mit drin, der Rest hängt so mit ab. Kommt mit der fliegenden Entstörung nicht in Berührung weil... Wird schon nicht. So viele Lehrbuchfehler auf so engem Raum, hätte ich jetzt nicht erwartet.
