That background that looks like a patchwork quilt someone spilled salt and pepper onto is a tilemap being rendered into the background behind the spheres and the holodragon sprites. I figure it's about time I got working on something I can actually show off, and tilemaps are something Fixl is going to depend heavily on.
After a while away from this, I'm back to working on Fixl. The next milestone will be to have multiple sprite types that all act differently, so the first step there is to make sure I can load multiple spritesheets and have them render correctly. The goal here is to be able to leave an animated trail, which needs:
• a different sprite size
• a sprite state with multiple frames
• sprites that can delete themselves
It's surprisingly complex once you get into the details.
