I was all ready to go out tonight, but my date canceled at the last minute. I was really pleased with my outfit, I had buffed my scalp, and I was looking forward to over-priced negronis.
Instead I sat in jeans & a sleep henley, worked on slides, and took out the trash.
I did make a spectacular cappuccino, though (taste more than looks).
So yay?
My current set-up with the #Flair58. Minus the kettle and stove-top steamer.
The arm is *tall*, so I cannot use it under a kitchen cabinet. I used the sink to get my head low enough to see the espresso coming out of the portafilter. Now I have a shot mirror.
I am annoyed the handle & chamber have a grippy coating because they attract dust and make me disinterested in cleaning espresso spatter elsewhere.
The WDT tool is a prosecco cork with 5 bits of high E guitar string.
Because this particular manual lever espresso maker likes to self-disassemble the plunger / piston while pulling a shot, the shot mirror became a necessity so I could keep an eye on the brew cylinder, pressure gauge, and extraction at once.
Video is silent because all you can hear is the angry stovetop steamer.
So @Dave42W got some nice speciality coffee beans for Christmas. So taken the next step towards great coffee while #Sailing #LiveAboard
Ordered a #1zpresso k-ultra https://1zpresso.coffee/k-ultra/ handgrinder and timemore nano scale. Should allow precision coffee with our #AeroPress maybe a #Flair58 one day?
At sea will use a standard electric filter coffee machine on a gimble for safer coffee making.
