Today we made a slight change, you might have noticed that when you ran an update that failed due to conflicting packages. We have decided to replace Pamac with an alternate version called Pamac-nosnap, which includes #Flatpaks and #AUR support but no #Snap support as name suggests. Follow linked guide below to fix issue. #FOSS #Linux

Flatpaks are now dead to me, they will be wiped from my machines never to return...

Just come to update my system and the total download will be 6GB!

If I remove the #flatpaks from the the list it goes down to 534MB.

Just crazy, it was only around 400MB to upgrade by a hole point release...

Do you guys use #Flatpak on your #Linux system? 🙂
Currently, I do not need external software - everything I need is in the repo or available in a external repo (#Debian)
Curious to know how your experiences are with #Flatpaks (Or #AppImages for that matter)

@sterndata #flatpaks are difficult to ingegrate with the actual system. I prefer RPMs.

@Sibshops About #Flatpaks, I don't think there's much to discuss. So far, they only distribute apps with a GUI.

Rock solid #Debian stable + "rolling" #Flatpaks just seems like the correct way to use #Linux to me.

An ostree update is the culprit 😬

Downgrading ostree allows installation and maintenance of Flatpaks from CLI until it's fixed.

Would someone create a #Linux distro that only exists to chainload #flatpaks on #Windows / #WSL|g?

#flatpaks are nice but #editors there are a bit funky because SDKs installed from flatpaks is not enough for a full IDE-like experience :)

this is why I'm still very supicious about #flatpaks. If an app is 100mb, sure fine, but 330mb in the background? It feels way too bloated. #linux

For those who use Flatline, maybe you noticed that this weekend both #Firefox and #Chrome extensions stopped working. This happened through the new #Flathub website (which is amazing, by the way).
Today I released version 1.6 with the necessary fixes. In a few minutes it should be available to everyone.

@linuxiac Hello. Do you happen to know, please, if #Flathub can be added to the default #KaOS repos, such that thereafter pkgs not in KaOS [due to its strict preference for, mostly, with only some *few* exceptions, Qt apps over GTK ones] could be installed as #Flatpaks?

Best part of #Flatpaks is that they are cross platform, can install on any Distro and implant my backed up var directory n pick up where I left off. For example, I am testing #Fedora 38 all I did was import my settings from Arch and am where I was 10 minutes is all it took... #Linux

With #KDE Plasma 5.27, its control panel received a module for assigning and editing rights for Flatpaks. This betters the already good integration of #Flatpaks in KDE Plasma's software shop Discover and is thus also available to you as a user of TUXEDO OS
